Acid Dyes

We at Gokul Eximp offer you with the wide range of Acid Dyes which are commonly used to color natural protein fibers, synthetic polyamide fibers, and, to a lesser extent, acrylics and mixtures of them. These dyes are applied to these fibers after they have been dyed in an acidic or neutral dye bath. Acid Dyes are available in huge varieties such as Blue 324, Yellow 1, Brown 14, Brown 15, and many more. They are water soluble and have an affinity for amphoteric fibers. They lacks the affinity of direct dyes for cellulose fibers. Our dyes are very effective as well as economical and safe to use.

Acid Dyes Features:

Acid dyes are a class of synthetic water-soluble dyes known for their ability to color natural fibers like wool, silk, and some synthetic fibers like nylon and modified acrylics. They possess several key features that make them suitable for various applications:

1. Water Solubility: Acid dyes are highly water-soluble, which allows for easy application to fibers during dyeing processes. This property also enables them to produce vibrant and even dyeing results.

2. Ionic Interaction: Acid dyes are classified as anionic dyes, meaning they carry a negative charge when dissolved in water. This charge enables them to form strong ionic interactions with the positively charged amino groups present in natural fibers, leading to excellent affinity and color fastness.

3. Bright and Vibrant Colors: Acid dyes offer a wide range of bright and vibrant colors, making them popular choices for dyeing textiles and yarns for various applications, including clothing, home textiles, and artistic projects.

4. Excellent Lightfastness: Acid dyes are known for their good lightfastness, meaning they can resist fading when exposed to light. This property is essential for maintaining the color intensity and appearance of dyed fabrics over time.

5. Suitable for Protein Fibers: Acid dyes are particularly well-suited for dyeing protein-based fibers such as wool and silk. They form strong chemical bonds with these fibers, resulting in long-lasting and colorfast results.

6. Easy Application: Acid dyes can be applied at a wide range of temperatures, typically around 70-80C (158-176F). This relatively low temperature makes the dyeing process more energy-efficient compared to some other dye classes.

7. pH Sensitivity: As the name suggests, acid dyes require an acidic environment for optimal dyeing. The presence of acidic substances (like acetic acid) during dyeing facilitates the attachment of the dye molecules to the fibers.

8. Limited Suitability for Cellulosic Fibers: While acid dyes work well with protein fibers, they are not very effective on cellulosic fibers like cotton and linen. These fibers require different dye classes, such as reactive dyes.

9. Wide Range of Applications: Acid dyes are used not only in the textile industry but also in other applications like leather dyeing, ink production, and the coloring of paper and certain plastics.
